In reply Nepal got poor start. They lost opener Paresh Lohani in fifth ball of the first over.At one time Nepal were 46 for 3. Then inform batsman Sarad and Gyanendra Malla took responsibility. Sarad scored 51 from 104 balls and Gyanendra scored 76 from 82. They batted till the end and Nepal got the target in 37.3 overs.
Shakti Gauchan became the Man of the Match for his economical bowling. He gave only 25 runs in his spell of 10 overs taking 3 wickets.Nepal will face Singapore on Monday.
Happy with the win, Nepal’s coach Roy Luke Dias said all the players needed to deliver. “Like Sharad, Basanta, Gyanendra and Shakti, other players also need to perform well,” he said. Team manager Pawan Agrawal praised the players’ patience. “The boys not only performed well but also did not lose concentration even under the pressure situation,” said the former national team captain Agrawal.
